I am a licensed psychotherapist with an office in Durham. Adults, young and old, often begin therapy with me because of a readiness to change something important in their lives; sometimes a trauma has occurred, and other times a new awareness has begun that urges a new look on old patterns. Adults often seek therapy to reduce their current suffering.

I welcome a wide variety of clients into my practice, with differing backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and treatment concerns. I am psychodynamically-trained, my approach is relational, and in-session my style is collaborative, direct, warm and challenging. I specialize in several different types of therapy for individuals and couples and continue to train in the latest understandings of treatment for trauma or relational concerns. I also draw upon several body-oriented psychotherapy approaches, tracking and engaging the nervous system, breath and other somatic indicators in helping heal what ails the person as a whole.

If you would like more information about my practice, please look around my site, and you’re welcome to call me (919-599-8196), email me: amelia.hube at gmail dot com, or use the contact form on this website.

I strongly believe that finding the right fit between therapist and client is the best indicator for successfully meeting your goals, so I welcome speaking on the phone briefly to begin exploring if we’d be a good fit to work together.
